About The Queen of Compton

As a Child, I was in bondage to poverty, trauma, foster care, brokenness, and lots of pain. Those experiences helped build character and I found freedom through outlets like basketball and poetry.” - Mrs. Black Dyamond

Mrs. Black Dyamond, also known as the “Queen of Compton,” is a determined hip hop artist and activist known for her hit single “Make a Wish.” In 2015, she crossed over into battle rap.

Being the oldest of four, Dyamond took on responsibility early on, raised by a mother battling poverty and mental illness, leading her family into foster care for five years.

Facing adversity, she adopted “Pain Through Art.” She started journaling, which turned into poetry and eventually rap lyrics. Dyamond became a beacon of hope for her siblings through her journey.

Recently, she earned her Bachelors Degree in Communications: Advertising/Media/PR from California State University. As an activist, she marched with Black Lives Matter for justice. Dyamond co-owns Compton City Movement, supporting local artists and hosting community events like "Feed The Streets", which is an annual Christmas Luncheon and gifting to the community of Skid Row in Los Angeles. She is also a female rapper advocate, thus creating opportunities for inspiring aspiring female hip hop artists with her platform “The Cypher House.”
